BAE Systems and the Systems Engineering Innovation Centre

BAE Systems is the premier global defence and aerospace company delivering a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, information technology solutions and customer support services.
The Systems Engineering Innovation Centre (SEIC) at Loughborough is a unique collaboration between BAE Systems, Loughborough University and the East Midland Regional Development Agency (emda). The 25,000m2 facility focuses on systems engineering aspects which provide a framework for the integration of people, processes, tools and technology in order to improve the management of risk, product configuration and technology insertion for the development of innovative products. The SEIC hosts over 40 systems engineering industrial and academic researchers.
Within CEMMNT, the SEIC and BAE systems will provide a systems perspective for industry to investigate and develop techniques that will underpin the manufacturing, commercialisation processes and integration associated with micro and nano technologies. As part of this, the SEIC provides open access and expertise for industry to use the latest industry leading microsystems design and simulation software developed by Coventor. The SEIC is also host to the CEMMNT Hub management team. BAE Systems additionally can provide access to cutting edge fabrication and characterisation capabilities available at the Advanced Technology Centre based in Filton, Bristol.
