Regenerative Medicine & Measurement Technologies (12th November 2009)
Exciting developments in the field of tissue engineering have created unique opportunities to fabricate tissues in the laboratory from combinations of engineered extracellular scaffolds, cells and biologically active molecules. Hosted by CEMMNT and Medilink East Midlands, this FREE half-day event will examine the potential benefits that measurement and characterisation technologies can bring to regenerative medicine, highlighting the solutions and challenges relevant to this rapidly developing sector of medicine.
Viral infections of cells can now be watched in real time
CEMMNT partner, NPL, has been working with the University of Edinburgh to develop a technique that makes it possible to watch the infection of individual cells by viruses in real time. It is hoped that by observing how different properties of the cells are affected at different stages of an infection, it will be possible to monitor the effects of new treatments.
CEMMNT's new company brochure is now available in both digital and print form. Highlighting the latest in state-of-the-art measurement and characterisation technologies, the new brochure includes a valuable outline of the application and benefits of micro and nano technologies across multiple industry sectors, from High Performance Transport to Medical Technologies.
