The National Physical Laboratory and Nanosight Ltd. have begun to collaborate on a Join Industry Project (JIP) to improve and develop the Nanosight nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) system which was first introduced in 2006 and has already sold nearly 200 units worldwide.

The project exploits NPL expertise in calibration and measurement to fully assess and validate the metrology of the existing NTA technique and to aid the inclusion of new measureands into the next generation of Nanosight instrumentation

The outcome of this project will be to aid Nanosight and all manufacturers, developers and end users of nanoparticles and nanomaterials. In particular, researchers in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, nanotoxicology and composite industries will be amongst the beneficiaries.
