Measurement Needs and Opportunities in Nanobiotechnology
National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, UK
Tuesday, 13th April 2010 - Wednesday, 14th April 2010 | £100.00 per delegate
Nanobiotechnology, the application of nano-science and nanotechnologies in the biological and medical fields, is a rapidly evolving area. The use of phenomena on the nanoscale and of nano-technological solutions opens up new opportunities for measuring and imaging biological substances and structures with increased sensitivity and resolution, thus opening up new possibilities in health care and related sectors.
This workshop focuses on metrology needs and developments in nanobiotechnology. Important measurement needs in the health care sector and other areas related to the bio- and life sciences will be highlighted and discussed. Current and emerging measurement, analysis and imaging methods based on nanotechnology will be presented by leading experts.
Keynote Speakers:
-
Bioanalytics, Biosensing and Diagnostics - Professor Fredrik Hook, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
-
Bioimaging Techniques - Dr Christian Eggeling, Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Germany
-
Nanomedicine - Dr Mike Eaton, UCB Celltech, UK
